This blog post is in response to the service project our class has been working on throughout the semester. Each member of class was assigned to a social media site run by the PRT program. Below are a few of my responses to questions which concerns the progress we made this semester. For reference, I was assigned to the site known as "Linked In."
Which of your messages or posts were most effective on your platform? Why?1. I had a few posts that were more effective than others. I think that when I made posts about jobs or events, there was more response. Since LinkedIn specifically targets job markets, I think they were more effective in reaching other visitors to the page.
Which of your messages or posts were least effective on your platform? Why?
2. I made a post or two that referenced a specific company that had relevance to Parks, Recreation, and Tourism. Although this might be a good idea, it seemed as though it was not the best way to promote our specific program of PRT.
3. Based on what you have learned from this experience respond to the following questions:

3. Based on what you have learned from this experience respond to the following questions:
- Who should use the platform you utilized?
- What types of information should be shared?
- How often should you post on this platform to generate a following?
- Were hashtags useful on this platform?
- Were links in comments or captions on images useful on this platform?
- Are there any tools you should use to help achieve a regular flow of posts or analyze the results of the campaign?
- What could we do next year or in the near future to generate more students following this platform and our UofU Parks, Recreation and Tourism site?
- Linked In should be used by current and former students who are currently looking through the job market. I think Linked In is great for anyone looking for a job in a professional way.
- I think information shared should be limited to job opportunities and openings in certain fields or business. Also, adding highlights for specific alumni could be good for both parties.
- I think about once a day in the right amount of posts. More than that would be overkill, but any less might generate less traffic.
- I did not use hashtags on this platform. I am not sure if other students did not as well, but there is no way to track or follow hashtags on Linked In.
- There were a few comments on posts made during the time, but nothing that was specifically useful. I think the most effective communication on this site would be between users and companies.
- I think by promoting our Linked In page on other social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook could achieve a more general flow of visitors.
- I think that by continuing to promote the site via word of mouth in the program could help in the future. And again, you could promote the PRT Linked In page on other social media, such as facebook, twitter, pintrest, etc.
